Comment One: Sato scores
Sato scored to start the season for the Whalers. Last season he had just 2 goal all year. With knocking in his first tonight, is he on his way to a better season? Sato has openly talked about trying to score more throughout the offseason, and he stated with a bang getting the Whalers on the board first in this game. Playing a large amount of time this season with captain Sven Yxskaft, who had 24 points last season including 19 helpers, we expect Sato to improve on both his goals and point total from last season. Can Sato continue on a great rookie campaign?

Comment Two: Vancouver Rookies in on the Rivalry
These two teams were involved in some late season madness last season with Colorado just edging out Vancouver for the final playoff spot in the West. Will this turn into a major rivalry? If it does Vancouver's rookies seem to be very involved early, with Johnny Shuffleboard getting two points, Domenic Alessadnri getting two points, Devin Basher getting a point, and Wile Coyote getting a point. Of them only Shuffleboard was a DFA for Vancouver's late season collapse. The only three must have been told about the bad blood that is set to develop between these two teams if they duke it out for the last spot in the West again.

Comment three: Redacted picks up where he left off
At the final buzzer Name Redacted was quickly mobbed by his teammates like all goalies are after regulation wins. For Redacted this was his first shutout of the season. Redacted had three shutouts last season and he will look to build on that over this season. His team did him no favors, he led the league in shots faced last season, and once again Vancouver got outshot, 32-25. For the Whalers to be successful this season they will rely on Redacted to have another big season. They may want to improve that defense in front of him and try to allow less shots. Or they can allow Redacted to continue to bail them out.
