The final buzzer sounds.  After a long 60 minutes of struggle back and forth.  The whistles is blown and now your team has one last shot at coming together to put up some kind of plan to defeat your opponents.  You've played a hard-fought game and you're so tired that the lines and squiggles that the coach is throwing out on the white board make almost no sense.  You knew that the SHL would take more stamina out of you than you expected, and you gave it your all for every goal. But your best resulted in this tie game with nothing left for you to give.

You are gassed and that's all there is to say about it.  You tried your best.  It was a commendable effort.  For every goal that the opponents scored you were able to put on up in return. 

The buzzer finally rings for the return to play.  You watch as your veteran first line goes out to do battle again.  The faceoff does not go in your teams favor.  Before you know it, the other team is setting up in your zone.  You dread and hope for the tap to get you on the ice.  You don't want to lose this game without having a chance to get out there and do everything that you can.

As the opponents circle like sharks, taking shot after shot. Each post is like a gong.

After three bells, the opponents have broken through and one loud clarion buzzer heralds your defeat.

You didn't even get to go on the ice before the other team scored.

Maybe in another dimension things could have gone differently.  If only you had made different decisions...
