The final buzzer sounds. This win was not pretty, but you were part of the games only goal. That 1 goal out there tonight is a pretty big deal because at the end of the game the scoreboard shows 1-0. You definitely made your fair share of errors in your plays, but at the same time, you definitely made the best play of the game. You played defensively, smartly, or just plain missed offensive opportunities. At the end of the game, victory is sweet and you get to taste it so early in your career. No one said wins were freely given ever.

Now exhausted, you take a moment to reflect about the game before the cheering gets so loud that you have no room in your thoughts for anything besides celebrations. As you replay your actions from the night you can't help but linger over those moments where you could have played ever slightly more efficiently or skillfully. I mean, a 1 goal game, and that by itself is something to remember.

Now the game is over. The challenge cup is right before you as the SHL Commissioner brings it out. The ice is being showered with hats and confetti and calls for another cup. The fans are ever thirsty.

As the cup is wheeled out you know that you won't be the first in line to hoist the beauty. That would go to your captain and your goalie who should tremendous effort out on the ice. Feel proud of knowing that you carried the cup to your team, and you put down all your cards when they needed you.

You made a lot of terrible calls out there at the end. If you had just played it a little different you could have given a cushion to your team and let them play with more confidence. Maybe, just maybe... there is another reality where you were able to have an even larger impact.
