Comment 1: Second Period Woes (130 words)

After the first intermission both teams took completely different stances on how the game should play out. The Colorado Raptors continued their style of playing business as usual and didn't alter there strategy from the first to the second period and that would lead to their downfall. A moving speech by the struggling Whaler's coach lit a fire under his team during the first intermission and broke the stalemate that we saw in the first period. This is the opposite of King Midas, every time the Raptors touched the puck the play died and the Whalers had an another chance to score. This period really set the tone for the rest of the game and you could see that the game had escaped from the Colorado Raptors and their players.


Comment 2: Bold Strategy (101 words)

Much like the Germans in WW2 the Whalers used somewhat of a blitzkrieg strategy shooting on all front and applying immense pressure on the Colorado Raptor team while utilizing their speed to punish the Raptors. That slow first period had the Raptors feeling complacent and that they could easily dismantle a 2-6 Whalers team but what they didn't expect was the Whaler strategy that was adopted in the 2nd period. The Raptors were not given any space to breath and were taken by surprise by the Whaler's strategy adjustment after the first that they knew they would lose this battle.


Comment 3 : Looking forward (142 words)

The Whalers have been struggling thus far this season but can take solace in their dominating victory here against the Colorado Raptors. They need to build off this win and implement similar types of strategies against the other teams they face as I feel that some teams do sleep on this Whaler's squad, which can be a deadly mistake as we saw here tonight. The Colorado Raptors did everything wrong and honestly just need to take the night off and reset for the next game. They cannot let this game linger in the back of their minds. There was no one person to blame for this loss and it was a team effort as a whole, I expect bag skates after this performance. Look for a big game from Colorado Raptors in the next game they play after being humiliated versus Vancouver.
