As the other player looks to wind up and take the shot, you take 0 seconds before lunging with your whole body and laying out in front of the shot.
As the puck crack into your should it manages to dampen the inertia that was built on the shot and instead of ricocheting wildly it kind of flops dead in front of your face. You are in a split second of perceived invulnerability. The pain hasn't hit yet. Get up and get that puck and try and pass or get it out of the zone Or Get up and abandon defense and skate for last second breakaway |
