In a recent thread in the General Discussion subforum, site user @jRuutu broke conduct guidelines cited in the SHL Rulebook under Section 2, Subsection J, Article 3, which reads:


There is a lot of nuance that comes with posting clips from youtube and making pop culture references so situations like this can be a little morally grey, but Head Office felt that the 2 clips posted being entirely unrelated was less a humorous pop culture reference, and moreso a thinly veiled way to be homophobic, and those who reported the infraction felt the same way.

The punishment for jRuutu is as follows:

- Suspension of jRuutu’s player Ensio Kalju of 3 games.
- Jruutu will receive a one week forum posting ban that will begin tonight, Monday, June 22nd at 6:20PM Eastern and will run until the following Monday, June 29th at 6:20PM Eastern.



Seeing as it’s also Pride month, SHL Head Office wants to voice our support and make the site stance clear. We are here to support and be a voice alongside our LGBT community members and as per the code of conduct, hate speech of any kind will not be tolerated.
