Reflection on your season - how did your player fare on the ice this season? Did you meet or surpass your individual player goals or did you come up short? Whether you excelled or disappointed - what can you attribute that to? What will you try to do better next season? When it comes to my thoughts on my season I have to admit I am disappointed. I truly thought this would be a break out year for me both in the regular season and the playoffs, and in both contests I came up woefully short. First of all I had a rocky regular season where I saw my backup outperform me during stretches, so much so that we ended up trading starts back to back. This was overall a very frustrating experience where I contemplated leaving the team. Fortunately we were able to work it out internally and my backup has decided to stay, even though he knows he will get significant less starts. The playoffs were much of the same, the only differences is that I got to play every game but at the end of the day I was still left frustrated. It's confusing to me how other goalies can have much less TPE than I do and yet be much better performers. I have to find a way to crack the code next season. 177 words 2. Are you and your teammates planning on watching the finals even though you're not in it? If so, what are your watch parties like? If not, are you still following the finals or trying to ignore it completely? What are you and your teammates doing together (if anything) instead of following along? (if you're on Hamilton or New Orleans, or either of the 2 SMJHL teams that soon will be playing in the finals - congrats and sorry :p this one isn't for you!) We were damn close to making the finals and had I been able to shut the door, we would have. It was a heartbreaking loss and yes there are many positives to take away from it but I still can't help but feel like we got cheated. I don't understand the fire rating, I won back to back, and yet for game 7 I was still cold? What's up with that FHM? My teammates are literally the best though and all they do is pick you up, not put you down. I have really found a home in Los Angeles which is why I decided to sign a lifetime contract and end my career there. I was telling them that I wish we could all go out and get drunk together, and while I don't actually drink in real life I would love for us to be able to meet and share some laughs in person. You can bet your ass I'll be watching the finals, and strangely enough I hope New Orleans wins. I know they beat us, but they deserve it. 183 words 3. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) It has been publicized a decent amount on this site but Hamilton prospect Andrei Kostitsyn's brother Sergei appears to be missing. Does anybody know where Sergei? What have you done/what can you do to help Andrei track down his brother? I'm terribly sorry to hear about this, as anyone who goes missing is a tragic ordeal. I've been watching the new season of Unsolved Mysteries and I can't imagine what it would be like to lose a love member and not know where they are. Fear not, my character Knox Booth has become an expert in detective work as he has had to track down his parent's killer and we can put him on the case. Knox is willing to go above the law and do the dirty work that it takes to get things done so consider him on the case. Be prepared for some action, and hopefully in the end we can find him. 116 words 4. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) S54 IIHF Predictions - with one FHM IIHF season under our belt, we've got a bit more of a sense of how the tournament might play out in the new sim engine. What are your predictions for the S54 IIHF or WJC tournament - how do you think your team will fare this season? Who do you think are the biggest contenders to take home the hardware and why? In terms of IIHF predictions I have only one choice for the winner and that's Czechia. Clearly we are a dominant team full of absolute competitors who are about to wreck this tournament and claim our gold. We got damn close last time and went as far as winning silver, which is the highest the team has ever medaled. However, second place is not enough and we will continue to compete until we claim the ultimate victory. Standing in our way is a multitude of teams but I fully expect a rematch in facing off against the United States in the final. I truly believe we are good enough to defeat them and what I need to do is hold up my end of the bargain and stay steady and consistent in net. We have the firepower and the defense required to take first place and there is no reason it shouldn't all come together for us. Let's do this Czechia! 161 words 5. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) Which player from the Steelhawks or Specters has a great chance to make the Hall of Fame when their playing days are up? Make the case for that player's HOF bid. The Hall of Fame is a true honor and there are many players on both the Specters and Steelhawks that should be considered. When it comes to my choice I can't help but think of the best goaltender in the SHL currently and that is Aleister Cain of New Orleans. When us Panthers discussed our challenge in facing the Specters in the playoffs there wasn't one of us who didn't mention Cain. He's a winner, and a force in this game by the time the dust has settled I fully expect to see him inducted into the SHL Hall of Fame. The guy is a beast. 106 words 8. Written (150 words min.) or Graphic, 3 TPE With only one champion in the SHL and the SMJHL per season, that means the other 26 teams came up just a bit short (or a lot short). Team owners know that fans can get frustrated by shortcomings, so they're always trying to keep optimism high in the fan base. Written option: give an excerpt from an ousted team's owner's press conference at the end of the season focusing on the team's bright future or however they can keep fans' optimism high. Graphic option: the team has rented a billboard in town with an inspiring message to fans to keep optimism high; show the billboard (must include team logo and whatever the optimistic message is). Excerpt from the owner of Los Angeles Panther's press conference: "How did you think the Panthers did in the regular season?" Owner: "I'm proud of the group, and the coaching staff. I think we've done an excellent job of building a dominant team who's strength lies in its defense. We know how to smother other teams and stifle their offense and it leads to an exciting game whenever the Panthers are on the ice." "What sort of improvements would you like to see made?" Owner: "We've managed to re-sign a few key players but I see one player in particular that I'm anxious to put pen to paper and that's Toivo. He's a dangerous weapon for us, a pure goal scorer, and there has been talk that he's going to explore free agency. We appreciate all that he has done for us but I don't want out relationship to end now that the postseason is over for us. I want to see him in a Panthers uniform for many seasons to come." "Speaking of the postseason, how did the Panthers do in the playoffs?" Owner: "I'm proud of what we accomplished but we came up short. We have a great tandem in Booth and McMahon and I expect both of them to continue to put in the work this summer so that they can come back even better next season." 230 words ***************** Total = 16 TPE |
