1. (3 TPE) Well coming into the season I knew the pressure would be off of me quite significantly because of my already horrid first season with a .867 save percentage so it really couldn’t get much worse. But then the first half of the season happened and I ended up still with a pretty horrible .880 save percentage or something. Definitely pretty down in the dumps about it but luckily my team is pretty awesome and they had been seeing how hard I have been working in practice so they knew I would come around eventually. And that is why I love the Armada squad, because the last month of the season I think I was the hottest, if not one of, in the entire junior league. Ended up with a .907 save percentage and a couple shut outs in the last week or so of play. Hopefully this’ll give me the confidence I needed to head into next season properly.
2. (3 TPE) I am unfortunately on one of the teams that has not made the SMJHL finals nor my SHL team has made the playoffs as well so things are extremely relaxed for me at the moment. Most of the team hasn’t been talking about league hockey, just mostly watched the SHL finals because that is where we all dream of being one day, as we are still in the juniors right now. It’s really fun just pondering what it’ll be like to have your name called during the opening night of the playoffs and the crowd so insanely hyped up. Making a mammoth save to end the game and hearing the crowd on their feet is going to be extremely awesome if I can ever get to that point. In the meantime though we casually chat about that as a team in our team’s group chat but other than that everyone’s been relaxing up to get their mind right for next season’s exciting team we are going to have. 4. (3 TPE) Since I am in the juniors I will focus on the world junior cup since I know it the best. But as the Finland GM, while making our squad I thought we were extremely solid up and down the line up. Lots of veterans and some high earning young guys. But when an article came out recently about average experience of the WJC teams I was surprised to find us sitting at 4th, so middle of the pack. The good thing though was that all the teams were fairly even experience wise for the most part, and surprisingly the defending champs Canada were at the bottom of the list. But the differences were so minor that I think it’s going to be an extremely good cup this year so should make for some insanely close games. Hopefully our two lines worth of very experienced players will be able to calm down our new guys on the squad and keep it together in the close games. 6. (3 TPE) This is a great question because there are so many veterans in the league that are on experienced teams who were out of the finals run. I think the first person I would want to be on there is Mike Izzy. I’m sure someone with nearly 20 seasons of experience in the SHL would provide an incredible amount of analysis for the broadcast. I’ve seen Mike comment on many media members posts and already makes a lot of advertising media for the Dragons so I think he already has the show business side down. So that plus his years of experience would make it a great fit for the SHL broadcasting finals crew. Additionally another potentially interesting member would obviously be Ola Wagstrom. It would be cool to see the most talented player in the SHL’s perspective. I am not sure how good his broadcasting skills are but usually when someone is that talented on the ice they can add some great behind the scenes details on why decisions were made on the ice. 13. a. (1 TPE) I think even though Cain might be the more skilled goaltender, it’s hard to match someone’s finals, and cup winning, experience such as Kryyst. I’m pretty positive that Krysst was even the MVP of last seasons finals so when you have a god mode playoff goalie that has carried a team to two other cups already, that is a massive edge in any Finals cup game. 16. (3 TPE, hopefully) honkverified |
