Normally, I would have this better formatted with some graphics and whatnot, but unfortunately I’m having to do this on my phone. A disservice to everyone involved in this announcement, but hopefully they both know that they mean more than the words in this post.

When I first applied to be the new Montreal General Manager, I had an idea of who I wanted my Co-GM to be, but I had to wait for a different department’s decision before I could hire him. I can’t believe I’m saying this,  it I’m extremely happy he didn’t end up getting that other job. It has been 6 incredible seasons with @cpetrella as my Co and together we’ve become the winningest GM duo in the organization’s history in terms of total wins, win percentage, and points percentage. In that time we’ve built a locker room from a ghost town into a place where alumni still stick around and talk with the new crowd. We’ve won back to back Cups (3 total in our 6 seasons together), won a Mathias Chouinard Award, and even got a rule added because of an unfortunate mishap. We’ve been through it all together, and that chapter is closing. You’re going to do great things in Tampa Bay, just please make sure you track your picks unlike me.

Now for the moment most of you are waiting for. I’m sure that most of you have probably guessed by now who will be stepping into Trella’s shoes. This person has been by far the biggest reason Carolina has drafted as well as we have lately. He’s the reason our lines have done what they have, and he’s part of the reason our new additions have felt so welcomed. I don’t know how we would be able to operate without him, and I can’t explain how luck we are to have had him fall to us at 6th overall in S52. Without any further wait, the new Co-General Manager of the Carolina Kraken is none other than...


There is zero doubt in my mind that Sve7en has more than earned this opportunity and the team will continue to thrive with him beside me at the helm. Congratulations man, welcome aboard.
