IIHF Federation Head IIHF GM Code: 1. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) EVO: Honestly, I fared better than I thought I would. I hit such a dark patch last season that I was heavily contemplating where I was as a player, and if there is one thing you never want to do, its to question your very being on the ice. Such showing will just spiral into despair, and it can only get worse from there. So, did I surpass my expectations lower than the Marianas Trench? Yes, I did. Does that mean I’m satisfied? Not really. I have still yet to make it to the playoffs and I know that the new crop of players will mean that I will need to do all I can to even have a chance of staying in a team. So then, for next season, I aim to improve myself physically. Having a nice shot is good and all, but it will mean little if you don’t have the body to support it, and that is my target. To support my skills with the body I currently have. It’s not much, but I’ll treat it as well as I can. Code: 3. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) ???: You have no need to know about my information. You’ll get nothing on who I am, where I’m from or anything of the sort. All you need to know is that I am a key in the search for a certain Sergei Kostitsyn. The latest information I have is that Sergei was last spotted in the outskirts of Darwin, Australia. He was with a few men as well. Bodyguards, spies, kidnappers, I’m afraid I don’t have the information on that. I can however hint that Sergei spoke of wanting to at least see the Great Barrier Reef, so if he ends up there, you have yours truly to thank. Code: 4. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) Foulke: Last season, Team GB made quick work of the group they were in and eased our way against their first opponent in the knockouts. Unfortunately for us, we ran against the eventual gold medallist, Team USA, in the semi-finals. It was a close affair, but in the end, we came up short. It didn’t stop us from dismantling Canada in the Bronze Medal match. This season, we have lost Harvey Danger and Cedric Robinson to retirement, which are blows for us, but the young players brought in to replace them are very capable and will serve Team GB very well for the coming years. As for the current core, the forwards have taken major leaps in their skill level whilst the veteran defensemen are keeping up with new tricks. I am very confident that this team will be a contender to receive what could be a third medal in a row, and I would very much like it to be a gold like my first tourney. Code: 5. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) EVO: When all is said and done, old man Joe Kurczewski, the longest-serving player not named Cleo Green will be a first ballot hall of famer. NOLA’s captain at centre, already decorated with not one, not two, not three, but four Four-Star Cups from his time in Calgary and Edmonton, is on course to get his fifth with the team that he founded. There isn’t really any comparison to the success and longevity of this guy, so whilst you can, watch every last moment of him whilst you can, because this unicorn is indeed a SHL treasure that should be cherish as long as the SHL lives. Code: 7. Written, 3 TPE My one true home beckons for thee, From the skies of Valais to the pubs of London old That by the end of it all it will decree, That the boys of the Union Jack will come home with gold. We know that with every shot we will laud, And with every hit we shall cheer, But win or lose, we shall applaud, In the house of the eternal sun, with gin and beer. Our skates will fly international, Our sticks rattling each puck, Our every roar emotional, Our swagger wooing Lady Luck. Indeed, our one true home beckons for their reward, Heralded by the round table and the Demon Lord. -Larry Foulke
Team GB Federation Head Code: 13. Written, up to 4 TPE Pick up to 4 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words. A. Ok, on one hand, you have Cain, a franchise goalie who has not put a foot wrong this season, but on the other hand, there is Geezus Kryyst, the son of God playing in net, blessed with holy hand speed and balls of steel. I’m sorry Cain, but there is no Abel for you the beat down. Advantage, Kryyst and Hamilton. B. I’m sorry Darnell, but there is really no debate to this question. Gabe is a living treasure that needs to be enjoyed to on a daily basis. From how he is wrong he is to how amusing he is to everyone that even just glances at him. Darnell seems like a cool guy in his own right, but Gabe is just a different animal. Second point to Hamilton. D. ………………damnit. I’m a Falcons fan, so the thought of visiting NOLA, where I will be swarmed by Saints fans is annoying for me. (Just ignore the ironic that that my name is ProjectSAINT). As for Hamilton, it doesn’t look like there is much there………maybe craft beer or something. Damnit, I’ll take the trip up north to Hamilton. And you’d bet I’d do it during winter just to snowboard and drink cider and beer. Code: 16. CW TRIVIA, 3 TPE max - 1 TPE for participation, 0.5 TPE for each correct answer.
