Welcome to todays press announcement from the Toronto North Stars. Today we will be announcing our captain team for season 55.

@Rich contacted us after the last season to inform us that he wants to step down of his assistant captain role to give the role to another player. With this we want to thank Rich for all he's done yet and will do for the team! We really apreciate his actions and think he's a role model for all the younger guys. We are also thrilled to see how he will further develop into an All-Star player!

And now let's head to the captaincy announcement!

Our new member of the captaincy team as an assistant captain will be:



Jack Kanoff - @jeffie43


Jack Kanoff is one of our new rookies thsi saeson. Since he joined the team he's had a big impact in the locker room. He's overall a great guy and likes to help everyone. He had an impressive last season in the junior leagues for Detroit. He was the defenseman with the most points on his team with 27 points in only his second year. Compared to all the other defensemen in the league, he was one of the ten best producing guys in the whole SMJHL.


Our second alternate captain this season will be:




Ruslan Zaporozhets - @CptSquall


Squally had an amazing first season in the SHL. He was one of the candidates for rookie of the season! He had 22 assists and 16 goals resulting in 38 points! He was one of the 3 best scorers on the team. With his play style of going deep into the zone and getting pucks to play them in front of the net he encourages young players to also play hard and physical which is great! He's also a great humble guy in the locker room! He likes to invite the players to his plays to eat some Smorrebrod sandwiches.

Yes you read correct we have 2 captains. One for the north american day times and one for the european time zones. They are our two oldest team members and they try to lead the team the best way they can off and on the ice.
Looking at Mika's last season we see his leadership not just in the offensive game with his team leading 43 points! But also in the defensive part of his game. He was leading the team in takeaways and was one of the 3 best defensive forwards!
Carpet is the backbone of our team. Keeping the goal shut from the many shots he has to face! He was the 6th best goalie in SV% in the league with a 0.922 save percentage! He was the goalie with the best save percentage who's played more then 1000 minutes during the last season! He also faced the 2nd most shots in the whole league! Considering all this stats just shows how dominant of a goalie Harry Carpet was last season and still is!
