Hello, Whaler Faithful. Once again, your Keyboard Warrior is here to give you a brief recap of the sim that was on this day.  

Vancouver Whalers at the Kelowna Knights. And I am here to tell you, it is not knight time. Or is it? Follow me, my friends, and we shall explore the game that was.

Well, the Whalers jumped to an early lead, giving Whaler fans a glimmer of hope before the Simulation came crashing down with all the fury of a drunken knight on a helpless peasant. The Vancouver Whalers dropped the contest 3-5 against the Kelowna Knights who once again used their goal song as psychological torture.  Once again, the Whalers fail to hold a lead, a fact that Luffy Richard takes on as a personal burden.


Luffy Richard was a -2, and yet his defensive game was rated very highly in some twisted instance of Simulation schadenfreude. Luffy Richard managed three blocked shots, one hit, three takeaways to one giveaway, as well as winning the only face-off he took. Luffy Richard had two shots on goal that once again did not pay off, which is a shame, because if one of those shots went in it could have negated a Kelowna Knights possession and therefore a goal. In theory that is.  

I caught up with Luffy Richard after the game, something I haven't been able to do in a few games, and we chatted for a bit. This reporter gets the impression the Whalers winger is incredibly frustrated with his effort. Though his defensive stats have continued to be consistent, his offense has cooled, though he is getting more shots on goal compared to previous seasons. He is continuing to train harder than ever, and hopes the right the ship with two-thirds of the remaining season left. There is still fire in Luffy Richard's eyes, and a hunger in his belly.
