The Lance Uppercut award is given to the league's best general managers. Sometimes this can mean the team who made the biggest splash and sometimes the award can be a reward for consistency. This season is a bit of both. Last year saw Buffalo's WannabeFinn and Tomen taking home the award. The nominees are:
Buffalo is back with another nominee. WannabeFinn and Tomen are pillars of consistency in the SHL. Buffalo remains good each and every season and looks to only be getting better. Sometimes its hard to argue with the team that won't go away.
Edmonton is our second nominee. Keygan and TommySalami made huge splashes in both free agency and by trade during the off-season that almost grabbed them a President's trophy win. Trading for Theo Morgan, Jon Toner and Hiro Fujikawa from Los Angeles bolstered both a great offence and defence plus signing Richan winner Bo Kane was huge.
Manhattan finishes off our nominees. Much like Edmonton, Manhattan found success via the trade wire this season. They pulled in 2000k TPE forward Ola Wagstrom while also bringing in defender Geoff Moore to allow them to make a run at first in the East.
