This would be news to me. The players with the most Hits last season were mostly on average or bad teams. This becomes even more clear when just looking at Defensemen, where 4 of the 5 top hit-getters were on non-playoff teams including the worst team in each Conference, and the first player from a top-3 team in either Conference doesn't come in until #13. For forwards, If you put all Skaters together, only three of the Top-20 hit-getters were on a top-3 team in either Conference.
