S56 SMJHL PT #6 - Next Season
#8

Carolina Kraken finish off their regular season with 31-17-2 scoreline in 50 games. Their success lies beneath their 2 lines of veteran presence in forwards and defenders. After this season is over, merely speculations can be made about players who seem to be called up to the majors next season

From the S54 class, Kraken players like their first line defender Adam Friedland, first line winger Vitek Vitecek, their first line center Linus Grimstad and Panda Panico are under major rumous about their destination next season. Vitecek recorded 41 points in 50 games with 0.82ppg and his linemate Linus Grimstad recorded 0.84ppg average with his 14 goals and 28 assists. Adam Friedland did show expectations correct this season with his insane blueline presense, banking 15 goals and 12 assists for a 27 point total in his 50 regular season games with Carolina Kraken. Panda Panico improved his goalscoring this season, banking himself 22 goals in 50 games this season compared to his last season’s 13 goals.

From the S55 class, Friedland’s pair in defense Axel Foley could be called up this season. He showed immense progress this season with the Kraken and especially with his linemate Adam Friedland. Foley recorded himself 9 goals and 33 assists for a total of 42 points in 50 games, averaging 0.84ppg – the same as Grimstad. Foley is a reliable defender who’s decision making in the offensive zone is high-end, while being a nightmare for his opponents in his own defensive zone. Vincent Wolfe had a massive breakout season. He scored 21 goals and 35 points in his 50 games this season, compared to his last season in which he had 9 goals and 16 points. His focus was clearly on his offensive game this season, therefore scouts have been comparing him to a young Alexander Mogilniy. If any of these players get called up, its time for Kraken’s S56 class to shine. Players like Aleksander Kozlov and Grape Fruit may have themselves a massive chance to show what theyre capable of to their respectable SHL teams.

Now, lets talk about Carolina Kraken’s rookie class of S57. Currently 6 rookies in their roster, 3 defenders in Unger Oda, Kai Ichinose and Ashy Larry and 3 forwards with high-end prospect Freyja Hellström, late round draftee Kyle Murray and DFA Luukas Lilja. Every single one of those rookies have shown massive improvements in their play this season. Freyja Hellström won the rookie rocket trophy with 13 goals in his first season with the Kraken, Murray didnt come far away from her with 9 goals, and Luukas Lilja came up strong with 17 assists this season, most of which were scored by these 2 rookie forwards who happen to be his linemates in action. Kraken havent had this much rookies on their roster in a long time, especially when all of these rookies are insanely promising and probably every single one of them are going to get drafted in first three rounds in the upcoming SHL draft.
