Scarecrow's Preseason Day 2 (Games 3,4 and 5)
#1

The Scarecrow's had an alright second day, they went 1 - 2 on the day but were able to slightly increase the number of shots on goal they were getting.

Rookie Firsts
Dane Von Gucci - Knocked in his first goal of the preseason in game 4.
Joshua Horsemenzada - Got his first assist of the preseason in game 4.
Lebron Brady - First assist of the preseason in game 5.
Ethan Brouchard - First goal of the preseason in game 5.
Scooby Doo - First assist of the preseason in game 5.
Brent Ashe - First assist of the preseason in game 5.

Player of the Day
Xavier Doom (Center) - His average rating on the day was 78.33. He played a great role in the offensive game with an amazing 4 assists on the day and even added on 2 goals. He also helped get more possession with 28 faceoff wins through the 3 games. He even made his defensive presence felt with 5 blocked shots throughout all of the games. He also had 3 hits so you know he was laying the BOOM. Xavier was all of the ice and even in the games where the team played bad, he was still playing not only great but consistent. Despite the team's -5 +/- he held a positive 2 +/- on the day. He did everything anyone could ask of him and that is why he is the player of the day. (He won't be given any of the players of the games because I gave him the overall player of the day, He played so well they would all be about just him).

Game 3
Top Performer - Friedensreich Hundertwasser (Right Wing)
Hundertwasser put up a great game and even though he wasn't the player of the game according to Simulation Hockey, I felt he deserved the honor. He was pretty effective on both offense and defense. He was able to come up with a goal and 2 assists to go with it. His second assist came early in the 3rd period and put the game away to take the lead to 6-2. He also made his defensive presence felt with 4 blocked shots! He was even able to add on 2 takeaways with that. He kept his +/- on the game to +2 and was a big reason they won the game. With the way he has been performing so far, I am going to have to write about this man way too much.

Defensive Player of the game - Jean-Locke Zidane
Zidane had an amazing 88 defensive rating in game 3. It shows with the 4 hits she had on the other team. She was also able to add 3 blocked shots helping the goalie out a little bit. She also showed up a bit on the offensive side putting together an assist on a goal that started to put the game out of reach. Her overall rating was 77 which shows that even though her defense was through the roof, she player exceptional everywhere else.

Game 4
Top Performer - Kit Kirkstone (Goalie)
I know this one might be odd considering Kit allowed 5 goals, but at the same time Kit had 40 saves and his save percentage was barely under .900. Kit was able to earn a grade of 76 despite the goals allowed which just shows how impressive he was. There were some flashy saves mixed in here and there but Kit was consistent with the basic stuff. Making the routine plays that need to be made and staying strong through 45 shots on goal. Kit has shown that despite the amount of pressure put against him time after time, he can be a wall and keep most of the pucks in front of him.

Rookie Standouts - Dane Von Gucci (Left Defense) and Joshua Horsemenzada (Left Wing)
The two young guys were impressive on the left side of the ice all night. They were each able to get a hit on the other team and Joshua was even able to add in a blocked shot. With Joshua's assist coming on Gucci's goal, you love to see the teamwork between the young guys. They had a combined +1 +/- which is a game where you lose, is impressive. And not only were they impressive but the rest of the rookie all had a solid game. Ethan Brouchard had 4 hits on the other team and Lebron Brady was able to add on 2 blocked shots. Brent Ashe had a +1 +/- with a hit and Scooby Doo had a blocked shot and a hit. This young core has shown how unstoppable they can be and will be a threat in the near future.

Game 5

There is no top performer for this game because no one played like a top performer besides Xavier Doom. There were a few players who were able to do some good things throughout the game. Daryl Urqhart, Hunter Sharpe, and Zybnek Dobrovsky all had 3 blocked shots helping the goalie out a little bit. Kaito Brouchard had 5 hits on the game, I guess he really let his anger out. Dane Von Gucci was able to get 5 shots on goal which shows he can help the very little pressure the Scarecrows have been able to force this season. Xavier Doom was able to win 12 faceoffs to help keep possession for the Scarecrows just a bit longer. All in all, it was a rough game but there were some bright spots throughout the game. There were 4 rookie firsts which shows the young guys are still ready to play, and some of the older guys put up some great stats in certain areas.

Golden Shower Award

The golden shower award goes to the player who earns the most "Player of the Day" honors throughout the season. Every time a player wins Player of the Day they get 1 point added to their total. Top Performers don't get any type of points because I am trying to avoid giving Players of the Day any top performers even though in most cases they would win 2-3 of them for the day.

T-1. Friedensreich Hundertwasser (Right Wing) - 1
T-1. Xavier Doom (Center) - 1
