The Carolina Kraken, fresh off of their big season fifty-eight draft put their new team into action for the preseason.

The lines were as followed:

Line 1:           LW                      C                        RW
Vincent Wolfe      Luukas Lilja          Tomas Lind

                                  LD                        RD
                           Gino Lombardo       Ole Olson

Line 3:           LW                      C                        RW
Twelve "47" Fifteen   Daud Ramza       Aleks Blixstrom

                                  LD                        RD
                             Ashy Larry            Jimmy Dekens

Line 4:           LW                      C                        RW
Kyle Murray      Marabelle Octive       Cormac Pónaire

The Kraken's first game of the preseason was against the Colorado Raptors in the LivWell Arena. They first period would see a stalemate broken by Vincent Wolfe of the Kraken, who potted in a goal with four and a half minutes remaining in the first. Two and a half minutes later Aleksander Kozlov would get a breakaway off of a mistake by Sonata Diamante and increase the Carolina lead to two. The second period would reinforce the fact that momentum gave its favour to the Kraken. Halfway into the period, Luukas Lilja would add another goal for the Kraken. Not even a minute into the third, the Raptors would attempt to mount a comeback, with Basil Sivart putting in their first goal of the game. This comeback would quickly be snuffed out by Lilja, who would score his second goal only two minutes after Sivart’s. After this goal, both teams would continue to go with the flow of the game, with the scores at the end of regulation being Kraken: four. Raptors: one.

The Kraken’s last game of the preseason would see them face the Vancouver Whalers at home in the Spectrum Center. Vancouver would open the scoring early in the first period when Zebulon Leavitt would shoot up high and beat Ragnar-Alexandre Ragnarsson-Tremblay. Not to be outdone, Carolina’s fourth line would act to ensure the Whalers would not end the first period with the lead, and Kyle Murray would equalise with four minutes remaining. He second period would start much like the first, as the Whalers would score very quickly off of tipped shot by KnockedOut byOvechkin. Unlike the first however, the Kraken would not be able to equalise before the end of the period. Yet this deficit would not remain for long, as the Kraken brought a quick start to the third with Jimmy Jimmy quickly putting a shot in off of a breakaway. The next fifteen minutes would see a stalemate between both teams as neither could quite put the other away. Yes, late in the period, Robot Sunfish of the Whalers would fire a slapper that Ragnarrson-Tremblay would not be able to contain. The Kraken would be unable to take it back to the Whalers and thus the game would end Vancouver: 3. Carolina: 2.

The Carolina Kraken would finish the preseason at an impressive record of four wins and two losses. From the preseason, there are some strengths in their send down core, but conversely, this is still a young team, and throughout their games they have shown that they will need to focus on gelling as a unit, and focus on building the team chemistry between the draftees.
