One of the most important metrics on a team, can not be determined solely by getting on the score sheet or by making a pass to the team's best player. Nor can it be tracked by hoisting up a trophy at the end of a season. This storyline involved extended time in the weight room and sweating out all that you've got as a player.
DeMaricus Smyth on the Atlanta Inferno is shining bright this season with 150 hits through 24 games played. That is roughly an average of 6 plus hits a game that Smyth is laying down on his opponents. The next closest players only have hits in the 80's. Smyth is a physical player, the likes of which this league does not see nearly often enough, as the focus is generally on slick puck and stick movements. But Smyth is keeping an old school component of this league together through forceful, glass shattering hits. Detroit Falcons: S57 - S59 |
