I think this season have given us some pretty nice stories so far, especially on a team level! Parity has been a major issue since our change to the new engine, but it feels like the changes we have made to deal with this issue are finally starting to have an effect and we've been seeing some encouraging signs this year that the league might become exciting and less predictable again. That doesn't mean however that there can't still be dominant teams and this season has seen their fair share of those so far as well. The coolest storyline of those has to be the Toronto Maple Leafs, who many people thought might be in the most unfortunate situation of them all this season, playing in by far the strongest division in the league with a real possibility of missing the playoffs because even though they are better than pretty much every out-of-division team in their Conference. And yet here they are, leading the East ahead of the expected favorites out of Hamilton, Chicago or Buffalo. Talking about Buffalo they've had a pretty interesting journey so far as well this season, losing pretty much every game in the first week of the season but winning basically every one since. And lastly we also have Texas who many expected to be good this season, but I don't think most people would've thought that they'd end up being quite as dominant as they look right now!
