I have to say that the biggest storyline so far has to be the Toronto North Stars. They've been on the way up for some time by all accounts and being stuck in the division of death surely didn't help as they were unable to really make that incremental climb in the standings that helps to keep a rebuilding team focused. So far they have been fantastic and really exploded up from being a bottom dweller in the great lakes to a force to be reckoned with. I think when we look back in a few seasons time, S58 will be the clear turning point when Toronto's dynasty began in earnest and it is also probably going to be the last (if not one of the last) season where the old holdouts from the previous system keep the old power teams afloat. Its an exciting time for the SHL.

On a more personal level, I've been extremely excited with the production and play from San Francisco this season. The young players are doing great and I think there's even an argument for some possible individual awards this offseason if the team can keep things going at this pace.
