S58 PT #4 Redesigning the Rink

Registered Apparently a big deal
Since the Simulation Hockey League's tv rights were purchased by an unnamed cable network, they've been making a load of changes to try and increase ratings. Some are super gimmicky and won't last long, but the one thing that they insist will last is replacing the boards with thick elastic bands all the way around the rink. This extreme change will cause anyone to runs into them to stretch them out and then be launched back across the ice. Hits will result in players flying everywhere and pucks taking all kinds of crazy bounces. Players can try and slingshot themselves off the new "boards" to try and gain some extra speed. Some might worry about safety concerns for the players, and that's actually a completely valid complaint. There has been nothing put in place to try and prevent injuries because of these new elastic boards, mainly because nobody knows what the hell could be done. That's for future HO's to figure out though, for now just sit back and enjoy the chaos.
