The development of Rob Wright, the former 2nd overall SMJHL draft pick, has been sluggish and tumultuous, but the 6'5 Norwegian hockey player shows promise.
The Nevada Battleborn selected Rob Wright after a positive tail-end to the S55 season, where the towering power forward made an impact, joining the Quebec Battleborn as a free agent ahead of the S56 draft, and gathering 3 (1-2-3) points in 5 games. Expectations were high and Wright did not immediately deliver. In Wright's rookie season, he provided an underwhelming 16 (5-11-16) points over 50 games. He followed that up with an even more disappointing performance in extended S57 season with 13 (5-8-13) points over 66 games. "My game was better, but the points just weren't there. The wins weren't either." Wright says, regarding his S57 performance. Wright's Game Rating improved from 55 to 58 over the two seasons. But Wright found his game in S58. S58 saw Wright set career-highs in: points - 23 (5-18-23) points over 66 games, an average Game Rating of 64, 134 hits, 44 shot blocks, and 105 shots. So, yeah, it's been gettin' better. Slowly. Rob Wright
