It has come to our attention that following the Rulebook changes regarding regression in S55, seasons S56-S58 failed to properly implement those changes. The effects of that weren’t severe, but the issue occurred around the highest regression hits in the 20th season and beyond. For the last 3 seasons, the regression posts used the old regression scale, where the 20th season is 18%, the 21st season was 20%, and then 22nd season was 25% and above. This allowed S37, S38, and S39 players to take an 18% hit instead of a 20% hit in S56, S57 and S58, respectively. Most of the players affected by this have already retired, though 3 users, namely @caltroit_red_flames, @ErM, and @Blastmeaway, did take lighter regression hits because of it while remaining active.

Head Office spent the day discussing this matter and reached the conclusion that hitting these users with harsher regression retroactively for something that was out of their control was not a decision we were comfortable with. This was missed at multiple points through the pipeline and should have been addressed before it even reached these users, so we’re opting to move forward in correcting future regression posts to properly reflect the changes introduced in S55, and ensure the miscommunication regarding those changes don’t happen again.

Finally, due to her involvement in handling regression, @BadWolf will be fined half her pay for the S59 season for missing those changes. Head Office discussed this point of the situation and determined that while BadWolf is the most accountable for the regression mishaps listed here, this was also an issue that could and should have been caught at other points, so punishing her in a way that was harsher than this felt unfair and not representative of this situation’s full picture.

As always, Head Office will continue to work with the various site department’s to ensure mistakes like this are caught earlier, or better yet, don’t happen in the first place.

BadWolf retains the right to appeal this punishment to the Owners.
