Pre Season -  7 Games - 1 Win - 6 Losses

1. Greyson Cooper - Left Wing - 235 TPE

Greyson Cooper was drafted 3rd overall by the Quebec City Citadelles. Cooper is known for his speed, accuracy, and his ability to get open. The scouts in Quebec were quick to comment on his ability to read the play and can create many offensive chances. Through preseason Cooper posted 4 points, 3 goals, 1 assist and was averaging about 13:43 minutes per night. He needs to work on his defensive and physical play if he wants to be able to keep up and compete with some of the top players in the league. He has been slotted in on the second line and throughout preseason he started to create chemistry with two veteran players. After scoring his first goal, Tyler Ward was the one who handed him his first puck that read 1st SMJHL goal. Something he will hang onto forever. Having his first preseason under his belt, and as the season continues we will see Cooper finding his groove and hopefully go on to winning many cups with the Citadelles.

2. Ryan Gardner - Left Defense - 228 TPE

Ryan Gardner was drafted 12th overall by the Quebec City Citadelles. Gardner is built like a brick and a monster of a player. He is 6’4 and 251 pounds and the kid is not afraid to drop the mitts. In fact, in one of his first preseason games he got into a fight and actually came out on top, he earned a lot of respect from his team early on. Throughout preseason he posted 1 goal and 25 penalty minutes averaging about 15:22 minutes per night on the ice. Some of his greatest assets are his ability to get in the right position and his screening, which isn't surprising with the build of this guy. Some of the players in the locker room said they feel more comfortable when Gardner is on the ice because he isn't scared to throw some hits and create more room for offensive chances. As we get further into the regular season there is no doubt in my mind that Gardner will be one of the top defenders that teams are scared to play.

3. Alfred Yankovic - Right Defense - 207 TPE

Alfred Yankovic was drafted 21st overall by the Quebec City Citadelles. Yankovic is a well-rounded player measuring 6’0 and 185 pounds. He isn't the biggest defenseman but he absolutely excels in his defensive game. He is not the most offensive defender but you do not see that too much in young rookie players. Yankovic is not afraid to get in the corners, in fact, he is usually one of the first. Throughout preseason he posted 1 assist, 7 blocked shots, and averaged about 17:56 minutes per night. Many scouts have mentioned Yankovich's ability to accelerate the play with his accurate passing and his speed. If he continues to work on his offensive talents we will see this guy's name on the score sheet more often for seasons to come.
