As the Maine Timber sit with a record of 8-23-2 putting them tenth in the league, sixth in the conference, and third in their division at the halfway point they are true underdogs but that was the plan that the general managers have taken they've gone for a team that is full of young talent which people are seeing glimpses of already. Their young players have really started to pick up their game with Ida-mae mann leading the team in assists while he's just 2 points away from leading the team as well, also there is Big Newff who is 2 goals away from leading the league not only is there a talented young offense but there is also the big guy who helps run the defense at such a young age leading the team in hits he's a true warrior Randy Marsh who Maine took first in the draft for his hitting ability is proving why he was the right guy for the job. Not only have there young players been showing potential but the older players are truly a huge impact to how the team plays they are the key guys who help shape the timber. Looking at the previous season the Timber has never really been the team that will make a crazy run in the regular season, they are more of the team that looks to upset the big teams in the playoff with the young explosive players. Maine is more of a stepping stone for the young players wanting to develop their guys and enjoy the journey none of them are outgoing crazy about wanting to win the league and the cup. most of Maine are just chilling trying to become the best they can be and if that brings wins then its a bonus. the majority of the roster is S61 players as there is eleven from that class which shows that main will be a huge force once they all grow and keep updating they will be that team that everyone wanted to be while all the big teams lose their players to call ups Maine will fly under the radar with the young guns and possibly be a contending team while still building up a young core. Looking at only the season 61 players, with the amount of playing time they can have every game, a few are already making some noise in the league. Ida mae Mann has 8 points in 14 games, Jay Cue has 5 points in only 8 games, also Big Newff almost leading the team scoring from the third line that is just to name a couple that has been more active during the games, with goals and assists, which shows how well they are doing with not a lot of TPE applied yet. Basically if the Maine Timber can keep the young core actively updating their players then it'll be a huge plus to them and their hopes into a great push for a good season. There is a very bright future in Maine and i cant wait to see what it brings.
