SMJHL GM Finally a real SHL GM Code: 1. CW TRIVIA, 3 TPE max - 1 TPE for participation, 0.5 TPE for each correct answer. This is completed through a Google form linked below. Make sure to spell your answers correctly or you will not get credit. Post your verification word in your CW post. Verification Word: Yarp Code: 2. Written, 3 TPE, What if...? (150 words min.) 2. If I had to pick one moment, I would personally change the S46 SHL draft with two specific point. I would change the draft destinations of Daco and Tibuk Soonika. Tibuk was a fantastic add that helped Chicago win their first cup, conversely Daco ended up costing their own team picks and drastically changing the course of Minnesota's last 15 seasons. I think this change would have drastic ripple effects for my team. I don't think the team makes the infamous McZ trade with based on how management changed after Daco's punishment. Minnesota would also have gone 4/4 on Anaheim Outlaws in the draft. I think we might have had all 4 of those picks pan out in that universe as well instead of personal conflicts resulting in Mander retiring as well as Daco's goalie never playing a single SHL game. It's entirely possible in this universe I never became GM of Minnesota as well. Code: 3. Written, 3 TPE, Draft Kings (150 words min.) 3. I think the most impactful draft would be the S46 SHL draft class. Not only did the massive size catch league management off guard, necessitating emergency SMJHL expansion, but it also caused an SHL expansion the following season. Not only was the size of the draft class huge, but there were a lot of users both new and old who pushed to cross the 2k TPE mark. The class created a massive influx of top tier talent for the league where top players were drafted far past the first round. Many of the draftee's in this class have also gone on to hold vital jobs in pretty much every area of league. I think S46 was a major turning point in how top tier talent emerged following as many draft classes after were also strong. Changing even some of the draft picks could make or break SHL dynasties. I often wonder if we will find a draft class as big as S46 anytime soon. Code: 6. Written, up to 4 TPE - Grab Bag: Pick up to 4 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words. Code: a. Hamilton was not taken to 7 games, Texas enjoyed two series sweeps, which team had the harder path to the final in your opinion? 6a. I think ultimately Texas had a harder path to the finals. I say this because I think the talent gap between Texas and the rest of their conference is much closer than Hamilton and the Eastern Conference. Hamilton as usual were favorites to not only make the finals, but win and that makes Texas's path harder in my mind. Code: 12. Milestones, up to 3 TPE Link: Milestones Claim Code: 18. Written, 2 TPE, Baby come back 100 words min 18. I think if there was one user I would bring back it would likely be ArGarBarGar. ArGar was a pivotal user in the league for a long time and their player Alonzo Garbonzo holds many records in the league. Along with this ArGar was a fantastic user for historical preservation. They did a lot of great work compiling and saving things for the league. Along with this they also had a pivotal role in the previous SHL Top 100 that I think would be nice to see back. ArGar was always a delight to discuss different aspects of the league with as well. They have a treasure trove of knowledge that sadly is not being used to better our league currently. 16/16 |
