A Goodbye to Nevada Legends

I come with a heavy heart that the two greatest Nevada Battleborn players of all time will be moving on to their SHL teams. Jimmy Larkin-Conway @Grapehead and Anton Harrier @Thunfish will move on to Baltimore and Manhattan respectively. I want to take time to thank them not only as a new Nevada General Manager but as a teammate who got to play three incredible seasons with them.
Anton always woke up everyone with a “Good Morning” in the locker room and enjoyed chatting with everyone about all the little things. From hikes to weather to obscure PS2 era video games, he always contributed to the Locker Room. Jimmy’s positivity in the Locker Room cannot be overstated. He was always cheering on his teammates and was a true leader and captain. Jimmy is the record holder for most points in a season for Nevada with 69 points (Nice!) and the only Battleborn player to have more than 50 points in a season. He holds the goal record as well with 30 in one season. He is also tied with both Anton and Ahlo for most assists in a season with 39. (they set the record in the same season, Ahlo tied the record this last season). Both of these players embodied the selflessness on the ice that Nevada promotes. They truly believed there is no “I” in team. Both these players drafted a few picks apart in Season 59 were the first blocks in building Nevada from total irrelevancy to a contender. It’s a shame we couldn’t get through Vancouver for them this season. But I know we fought like demons against them. While I will be personally lining up against both these players in the Atlantic Division soon, I wish them the absolute best with their SHL career and both Baltimore and Manhattan have gained, in my opinion, two of the best players in the SHL. Jess and I have our work cut out for use to replace these two legends. |
