Rikard Bjerg was drafted into the San Francisco organization at the beginning of their rebuild, so he knows the team has a story to tell now that they could be considered legitimate contenders for the cup. There are several storylines the series could focus on. Sven Svenson was last season's MVP, and is looking to run it back again with a Forward core that is just as strong as it was last season. There are 3 new rookies on the squad; Petr Svoboda, playing on the top line of forwards, Borje Samuelsson, playing on the second line with stalwart defensive presence Alexander Oscarsson, and late addition to the team and second rookie goalie in as many seasons Osada Tamura, who is already off to an incredible start. The series could follow the team as a whole and the rookies as they fight with the LA Panthers for the top of the Pacific division, and hopefully push forward into the second round of the playoffs for the first time in 11 seasons.
