1. Trivia (3 TPE)
Verified 2. 4 TPE a. My brain says go with the experienced vets of Chicago, but my heart and sympathies definitely go with Atlanta. Atlanta Inferno in the finals shows, that you can compete as a new team if you are doing great work. It needed some time, but they look like one of the best up and comers. Would be awesome if they manage to get the win. b. While Chicago does have a lot more takeaways than Atlanta, it doesn't mean it's the better team. Chicago is very experienced stuffed with veteran players, Atlanta is the more up and coming one, full of young and hungry newcomers. I think they have to concentrate and try to play secure hockey, otherwise they'll get in trouble. But while they are at it, they should not throw their philosophy out of the window. c. Discipline can be one of the big factors of the finals, and Atlanta is looking really strong int that category. Keeping as many people on the ice and limiting powerplay of the opponent, can be a very big key to victory. I think Chicago has to take care and limit penalties to keep the upper hand in the finals. d. The more balanced approach guarantees you less tired players with a lot of ice time, so they could benefit from that. On the other hand, Atlanta's top players never seem to run out of steam and they never stop going full gas. It will be interesting to see, but having veterans splitting their ice time evenly could be a big factor in that game. 5. 3 TPE In my opinion the Challenge Cup is way more prestigious than the Four Star Cup. While it is cool that the Four Star Cup has it's long history and many historic and prestigious match ups, the Challenge Cup is what both leagues finally are about. You enter the league in the minors, probably not having a lot of knowledge of the league and getting in touch with everything. You get to know your first big rivals, get to know the ins and outs of the league. But when you advance to the big league, everything is doubled and tripled in prestige. You play that many more seasons in the big league, you really grow friendships and rivalries and your ultimate goal is to be the one holding up the cup in the end. Doing that at the highest level is so much more prestigious than when you just entered the league. The creme de la creme of hockey is facing off in the finals and everyone is excited to watch the spectacle. 7. 3 TPE Milestones 16. 2 TPE The song I am from Austria from Rainhard Fendrich is not only the inofficial hymn of my IIHF country, it is also the country I am actually from. Born and raised, still living here and sometimes asking myself how I even end up in a hockey league based in the United States coming from such a small and pretty far away situated country. What I know is that it's pretty cool that my country is one that is selectable as home country and takes part in IIHF. The only problem we have as an IIHF country is, that Austria isn't really common to choose as country when you create. We'll see how our future goes. 17. 2 TPE Did you know that Austria is divided into 9 parts or districts? They are Upper Austria, Lower Austria, Vienna, Burgenland, Styria, Corinthia, Salzburg, Tyrol and Vorarlberg. Did you know that dialect in Austria is pretty wild and different from region to region. It happens that you don't understand someone at all, when you travel to other districts. At least if you are a non-Vorarlberger going there. Did you know that Austria has a very big history, they once ruled over half of Europe and even had parts of South America? They were known as the country where the sun never sets. But history did it's stuff and over the course of time, the marriage politics didn't work anymore and they lost a lot of different parts. And then world war I started which finally was the end to being a big country. ![]() ![]() |
