Leading up to the start of the S65 season the pressure and nerves were definitely getting to Zayne Dangle. Playing in the SMJHL was a huge opportunity, but making it to the SHL was life changing. Everything he worked so hard for was coming to fruition. Standing in the tunnel before the first regular season game and his first time stepping onto the ice with the Stampede, the memories came rushing back. There were quite a few from when he was a kid. The one that sticks out was why he started playing hockey in the first place. He grew up with a single mother and was always getting into trouble. Going out and playing pond hockey with his friends was about the only thing that kept him out of trouble. It wasn't until he was in secondary school that he could play organized hockey for the schools team. From there on he vowed that he would work as much as possible to afford to keep playing.
