I mean, my player is a bit of a different animal when it comes to things like this. His inspiration to become a hockey player goes back generations. While his dad and his grandfather were both goalies, and pretty good ones at that, his uncle Jax was like a bolt of lightning on skates at times playing as a center and it really lit up the game and made it that much more fun and exciting to Jesper.
You see, Jesper is a different person than the majority you'll come across in the SHL. There are families that have legacies in the SHL, but there just aren't many you'll find that are three generations deep and have so much history to draw on to help drive their passion for the game. Everybody in the family is dedicated to hockey, and if any weren't, it would probably be pretty awkward. Just about every story told around the dinner table is about traveling to some city for a game, hanging out with teammates, the old days, the newer days, the things they do or the things they did. It's nonstop, and it just fills you with that hope to one day have those stories of your own as well. An old man's dream ended. A young man's vision of the future opened wide. Young men have visions, old men have dreams. But the place for old men to dream is beside the fire.
Thanks to Jackson, Copenhagen, and Harry Hans!
