Opening the season at home against the visiting Toronto North Stars, Ole Olson stood with his teammates as the last few words of the Star Spangled Banner rumbled through the stadium. The fans roared, the referees took their places, Olson and his teammates took the ice. Xavier Doom skated to the center of the circle, Ole took his position behind and to his left. "Stay out of the box, play a disciplined game, get pucks deep, get pucks in the net, and win the hockey game." It was what his hockey media relations expert kept telling the team, but Olson took it to heart. He started his career with a focus on defense and strength. He played a very physically defensive game, but as he spent his time in the SHL, he learned finesse. He started directing the forecheck, making key passes into the crease, focusing on a strong attacking position. Starting the season, Olson is hoping to make a big impact on both sides of the ice.
