I don't know the SMJHL history at all except for the first 3 seasons of my career that I spent there, so I'm just gonna be biased and say that my team, S48 Vancouver Whalers, is the best team in SMJHL history. (It was a great team but tbf I don't know if it's the best ever but wtv). And the S48 Vancouver Whalers could, no I mean, would beat the worst team in the SHL history, the 0-50 Tampa Bay Barracuda (which was trella's fault btw). I mean I don't have the exact numbers, but I remember that MCP was signing sub-200 tpe IFAs to fill out the roster, so tpe-wise it must've been close to an smjhl quality roster anyway, and the S48 Vancouver had like 13 capped players. I feel like it would've been a close series even if whalers were still at their 350 builds. Although worth noting that these teams are from different sim engine eras. Code: 7. F - Robert Phelps. Teddy was one of the most consistent players of his era, and a role model for the younger players. F - Dick Clapper. Made the team in his shl rookie season, and somehow he's still on the team despite being like 45 years old by now. F - Matt Kholin. Kholin was team captain and LR leader almost his entire career for Canada. D - Adam Barron. Wears the C for Canada now, already won 4 gold medals and he's not stopping D - Gabriel Johnson. Gabe sucks but it's almost like the hatred for Gabe united the LR each season. G - Walter Hobbs. Canada hasn't had a max earning goalie in a while, and I think Hobbs was the last one Code: 18. The biggest thing that everyone probably noticed after the engine switch is that scoring in the league is up, there are noticeably more goals scored per game than in fhm 6. Which I guess is something no one's going to complain about, except maybe goalies. Parity in the league also generally seems to be better, but Idk if it's due to fhm 8 or all of the rule changes in the last 10 seasons or so. But anyway, Seattle beat three higher seeded team on their way to the finals, then took the presidents trophy winner to 6 games, and I don't know if something like that happened before. |
