I'm the kind of person to give the shirt off his back, the kind of person who never gives up on someone who needs me, and, through my career, a consistent day-to-day presence for a lot of kids who struggle to have stability and someone who shows they care at home. We just started our school year on Thursday, and it's been a wild and crazy two days, with some stories most of you wouldn't believe, but I wouldn't change it for the world. I only hope that others can do as I have been lucky enough to do and find their purpose, because then, no matter how hard things get, you feel the fulfillment that comes with knowing you are making a true impact and difference. I'm super excited to be playing in my first IIHF tournament after repping the team in the WJC, so this is a perfect prompt for the moment! Without further ado... F - Walter Salming: The Seattle winger had a great resurgent season, even outpacing the man many picked as a 1st rounder in fantasy in Vaseline Podcalzone. 65 points and a Challenge Cup appearance. Yes please. F - Walton Stromberg: The San Francisco center put up an incredible 89 points on the season, finishing just two behind the team leader, Kev Kevens. He also finished 5th in the league in assists with 55! F - Zoltan Topalo: Who doesn't love Jase?! His player was once again a huge part of Tampa Bay's success, as he finished the season with 77 points. D - Eero Makela: Every fantasy season leaves users scrambling to find a D man or two who can help carry their team, and Eero was the hot name on the block last season (and continues to be this season). Makela combines good scoring totals (52 points) with fantastic defense (273 blocks and 75 takeaways) to be a great all-around player at D. D - Jay O'Neil: The youngest player on this list, the Winnepeg defenseman doesn't pride himself on adding to the offense, but rather locking down the opposing team, as he finished with 51 takeaways! G - Mat Smith: The Finland starter represents the Chicago Syndicate in the SHL. He finished 2nd in the league in wins last season with 35, and posting a goals against average of 2.98. (2 TPE) Code: 18. Written, 2 TPE - The Procrastinator Special! (100 words min.) I think this season was pretty wild all around with the sim swap. Teams took a lot of time figuring out what might work through trial and error. When it came time for the playoffs, I was pleasantly surprised by my former team, the Seattle Argonauts. The team lost a few key players and depth pieces but ended up pushing the eventual champions Atlanta to the bring in the Challenge Cup finals. While things didn't exactly go our way in our playoff series against Toronto, we in Montreal were relatively pleased at the growth we showed to get there and know we are set up well for future seasons and are hopeful for a cup run of our own in the coming years. (2 TPE) 16/16 total! ![]() |
