Player Prompt:
Ever since I could remember, I wanted to be a professional hockey player. I grew up watching the SHL all the time, cheering on the Winnipeg Jets and their plethora of stars, including Damian Littleton, Lance Uppercut, and Rembrandt Q. Einstein. I remember one day seeing a commercial for a Jets hockey camp and begging my parents to let me go. They finally relented and I went to the 2 week camp. I had already been playing minor hockey and was getting some attention, but at the camp I learned so many fundamentals that really helped my game. While there, I was able to get exposure to some high ranking scouts in the professional game and I think that camp really helped get my name out there. I was able to take away so much from that camp that when I got back home, I tore up my league. I was a step faster than everyone and a step ahead of the play while I was out there. The skills I learned at that hockey camp got me noticed by a bunch of scouts in the SMJHL and from there my dream of playing in the SHL came to be. (200 words)
