I'm really happy with how my rookie season went. It's hard to do better than winning the Cup in your first season, especially when our team was supposed to be entering a rebuild.

Individually, the season went way above my expectations. I led or was top 10 in the SMJHL in a lot of categories, not just among rookies but among all defensemen. I finished first in goals scored, top 3 in points, shooting percentage and powerplay goals and top 10 in assists, plus/minus and shots taken. I didn't do as well offensively during the playoffs but at least I contributed more on defense with a decent amount of shots blocked and by leading the SMJHL's defensemen in hits.
