- Player Name: Levin Schattenaxt
- Position: Right Wing - Recreate or First-Gen? Recreate - Recreates: Who was your last player? Markus Tegernako (S50) / Jannik Nordstern (S61) - Full Discord Username (including the hashtag and numbers): KlusteR#1710 - How many hours a week do you usually have free? (ie. 1, 3, 6+, etc.) I'm trying to be better at keeping a schedule, so for now, I'm dedicating no more than 5 hours per week for SHL activities. Still gonna be on Discord a lot, since I work in IT, and therefore, am always near a computer. - Is water wet? Water is sticky. - What made you join the SHL? It's been almost 5 years at this point... I would say that the main driving element, back in the day, was my love for sports, and sport simulation engines. I still love the latter, but I've developed quite a thorny relationship with FHM during my earlier tenure in the league... - What are your general expectations of your juniors career? Are you looking for a long and successful career as a junior player, or are you hoping to be called up to the big leagues as soon as possible? Seeing as I already won a Four-Star Cup, I'd say my general goals have been met. If I was to go into a specific goal, it would probably to finish with the highest turnovers in a season for a forward. Points are just a bonus for doing your work well defensively, in the end :monocle: - If you had to give a 30 minute a lecture off of memory what topic would you choose? The desecration of the Montréal Impact franchise by Joey Saputo, and why it has failed to establish a solid foothold in the city in 30 years of existence. Oh yea, the real Montréal Impact, not the old SHL franchise... Sorry, SHL Ancients. - Have you ever heard about Kelowna before joining this league? I had, yes! Even back in the day. I'm a sports nerd, and you don't expect me to know the Kelowna Rockets? SMH my head... - How do you feel about walruses? Lots of admiration for walruses. Majestic and teethy, they impose respect on their aquatic brethren. They would make amazing goalies, too. - What are your thoughts on the paradox of tolerance? There's a fine line between tolerating the intolerant, and tolerating the intolerable. Words matter, people. - Any hobbies you’ve been into lately? I started getting into Game Dev as a hobby at the start of the year! Using Godot as an engine (because I like open-source), I can make the most archaic version of Brick Break you've ever laid your eyes on. My code works, which at this point, is all I could've hoped for - the next step is to make it visually appealing. - What is the best book you have read and why? (Comics included) Le Comte de Monte-Cristo, by Alexandre Dumas. The intrigue is so well-woven, the characters are interesting in their own right (and shine within the plot's structure), and who among us hasn't dreamed of a perfect revenge plan coming to fruition? - What do you consider the most important part of a fun league experience? While having success is always a good driver for "fun", it's not the "be all, end all" of the league for me. I like seeing narratives woven as the season progresses, may it be for my player, my team, or the league as a whole. Being able to nerd out about that, may it be by "shooting the shit" about our fake players in the locker room, or posting long-winded media articles, is what makes the league fun, in my opinion. - What’s your favorite Pokemon? Why? I have asked myself the same question a lot over the years, and yet I always go back to one of two out of the OG 151s : Arcanine and Ninetales. There's probably a nostalgia factor to it, but also - they just haven't had a design that gripped me as much as a giant, flaming hound you can ride as a mount, or a mystical fox, revered almost as a God, that can shoot huge balls of fire from their mouth. Now that is peak fiction. - What video games do you play? I'm very much into MMOs - it all started with Ultima Online back in the day, and nowadays, I'm playing a decent amount of FF14 and Destiny 2. I also discovered a love for rogue-likes thanks to titles like Slay the Spire and Hades. Other than that, I'm more of a tactician than a twitch-happy kind of gamer, so I stick to games like Civilization, Final Fantasy Tactics (which I just restarted again for the 4th time), and Fire Emblem. I own Crusader Kings 2, but I'm scared of what that game may do to my free time... - If you were to choose a breed of dog you would most likely be, what would it be and why? Dogs are very dependant creatures, and that just isn't me, mate. Since I do like a bit of orderly conduct, I'd probably be in the Shepherd category... Make it an Australian Shepherd, because I'm a bit of a spaz and so are they. But I'd definitely be a cat if I were to transform into an animal. Or an otter. I like otters. Are otters an option? |
