Bank Manager Posting Freak
Billy Herrington was a stud forward for the Detroit Falcons in the SMJHL, and as a pro athlete, he was no stranger to media attention. But when it came to pressers and interviews, he had mixed feelings. On one hand, he understood the value of the media in promoting the league and his squad. He also dug getting some air time to showcase his sick moves and connect with the fans. On the other hand, sometimes the questions were just dump-and-chase, and he felt like he was getting forechecked in his own end. After a tough loss, Billy sometimes dreaded the post-game scrum. He preferred to focus on getting the squad back on track instead of rehashing the missed opportunities. Nevertheless, he knew he had to be a locker room leader, so he often sucked it up and faced the media. If one of his teammates got dangled into speaking after a stinky game, Billy would sometimes step up and take the slot. He knew some of the young guns on the team found the media biz a little chippy, and he didn't want to leave them out to dry. Plus, as an experienced player, he felt it was his job to have his squadmates' backs. Overall, Billy Herrington knew the media was a key part of the game, but he also knew it had its ups and downs. He always tried to rep his team and the sport with class, whether he was on the ice or in the scrum.
