Dusty Rhodes absolutely loves talking to the media. It's actually one of his all time favorite things. The reason being is he can practice cutting wrestling style promos about hockey matters. This makes him an absolute great interview and several of the local reporters have figured out which questions will get Dusty rolling. His favorite is to cut promos on other team's star players to try and get them off their games. Many times it works because those players will go after him during games and say stuff like what ya got to say now fat boy? Lol, it's great fun to get them focused on Dusty instead of focused on the game. If he can distract them enough it may even add up to a couple extra wins per season. This can be the difference of making the playoffs or not or even getting a better seeding for the playoffs. Either way Dusty not only uses his physical tools but also his mouth to try and help his team in any way he can.
