Saskatoon needs a pro hockey team because it's a big part of the Canadian identity, and we'd be die hard fans. We've had a WHL team the Blades here, but it's not the same as NHL hockey. The cup is all that matters. It would give us a team around here to rally around, boosting community pride and culture.
Saskatoon has also produced some amazing stars, and it would continue the pipeline into the big leagues. Plus, it would drive up tourism and create a huge boost in the economy. We're in the middle of nowhere for christ sake. We'd BE somewhere people want to visit. It would create more jobs around here, and it's an amazing sport for such a northern city. It's a really smart idea. It would be a go-to sports destination and we'd be able to showcase ourselves to the world. Plus, who doesn't want more Canadian hockey teams? Oh... Bettman. Update Page |
