Registered Posting Freak Quote:Written Task: Fact is, the game is the same no matter where it's played. Home, away, outdoor, that one weird exposition game in Belarus that you're pretty sure your owner was blackmailed into putting on, your player's job doesn't change. So, how does your player keep an even keel? What's their trick for mental reset and maintaining focus on their game despite the men with tracksuits and AK47s hanging out at the vending area? (150+ words) As has already been well recorded, Spack Jarrow is no stranger to guns and dangerous people. Amongst his many adventures on merchant vessels during his childhood and teenage years, Spack would often find himself exchanging products with artillery (light and heavy) present at the meetup. So this was just another trip down memory lane for him. Jarrow found himself spending much of his time assuring his fellow teammates of their safety. That and greasing the palms of the locals to provide extra "security". Even with all that extra excitement, once the puck drops and the game begins, the surroundings don't really matter. It is all about the game and getting that next goal. Sure the gunfire in the air after a goal can be a tad disconcerting when you aren't prepared but you really have to appreciate their team spirit. Overall, the "trip" was a success. We got the win and nobody got shot. Jarrow will be happy to be back home and can ditch the kevlar-shoulder pads. [ 168 words ] |
