The sport utilizes alien technology that allows the ice to wrap all the way around, making the field of play into the shape of the interior of an oblate spheroid. The artificial gravity and levitation technologies in the stadium allow players to skate allow around the ice, while the crowd pod and the team benches in the center of the stadium and the goalie in front of the goal are able to float to watch or protect the goal from all sides.
