Seattle Argonauts played against Edmonton Blizzard on the first round of the playoffs of the season 72 of the Simulation Hockey League. We all know how the series ended but there were for sure certain aspects before the series for which Seattle tried to strike and use in its advantage. First one was goaltending. Argonauts had better goalie. They had two-time Challenge Cup Winner Willie Miller in the net. We all knew what kind of playoffs runs he had had earlier and trusted again this season that he would carry us to the success. Our other strength was top line of Fiorentini, Podzalcone and Salming. They carried the team offensively in the regular season. Those guys have altogether five Challenge Cups. In the end they played well and were left in the plusside in the plus-minusstat. Of course Seattle also had couple of quality defenders in Ramsbottom and Fischermann who helped Miller in the defence. Edmonton maybe had better collective but Seattle had advantage in experience. You check from the scoreboard how the series went in the end. ![]() |
