I always like having some time after practice to work with my goalie on small drills. I usually grabbed the back up because it gives them a chance to keep themselves sharp as well. My favourite drill to do is one that helps me visualize what kind of rebounds my point shots will create. I want to be able to put the puck in a spot for my forwards to react to. I'll line up a pile of pucks and talk to my goalie as I take each shot. I want to hear from them what a goalie's tendencies are. If I shot blocker side high, where is the rebound likely to go. When the shot is on the ice, what is the goalie looking to do with the puck. After some information is transferred, I'll start putting up shots from the point and following how the rebounds come off for each shot. This will help me get a better idea of where to shoot during the game depending on where my forward is at the time. (177 words)
