I think the leg training goes in many different forms. Leg workouts every other day that there isn't a game is one of my big ones. I try to alternate which muscles get work like thighs and hamstrings on one day then calves and everything in the feet another. Throughout the season skating on game days is pretty big anyways so there's not too much else you have to do other than try not to wear yourself out. If we have any breaks for more than like 3 days then I'll try to get a leg workout in if I can. Running is also huge to keep that cardio up and keep those legs as strong as they can be. Skating I also try to work on my finesse on the skates as I want to be able to do the things my brain thinks on the ice and not just skate around all slowly, turning like an 18 wheeler in the snow trying to u turn on the highway. 170 words |
