Despite not being recognized for it last season by being failed to even be nominated for the Jeff Dar award as the leagues top defensive forward, Jack St. Clair is very good at defence. He knows where to be when he needs to be with his great positioning, which then allows him to stick check his opponents or check them off the puck. Thats why I think if Jack St. Clair would try his hand at another position it would have to be defence. He's played wing before at the start of his career, and also while representing his home country at WJC and IIHF tournaments. In fact, he even played defence in his first IIHF tournament which also happened to be the last time Canada won the gold medal. He might not be as good as some of the greats like Louise St. Martin or Emil Egli, but I think JSC would be a top defender in the league with few slight adjustments to his playstyle. |
