If Dag-Otto was tossed out of Sweden and had to choose which other nation to become a citizen of, it'd likely be Finland. He doesn't have family in Finland or anything like that. He just really enjoyed his time there while visiting a couple of years back. The people and culture seem really nice. Not too different from Sweden, unsurprisingly. And in the same sense both countries are crazy about hockey and have had a friendly rivalry since the beginning of IIHF. It's also helped by the fact that the international WJC tournament has in recent years required the Nordic countries to merge and play under a single, unified flag. So if Dag-Otto had to play with Finland, or any other Nordic team, in the IIHF he'd likely bump into many of the players he played with during his WJC years. It wouldn't be much different from what he's already been doing. Past Players |
