i am home from my long journey to the south. what a saga. ten states in twelve days!

flew out to cleveland by way of charlotte. got delayed two hours in charlotte, got to cleveland in the middle of the night, discovered that the rental car i had already paid for was unavailable due to their "check in any time" thing not working after business hours. shelled out a hundred dollars for an uber to get to our hotel where they gave me a fourth floor room that had already been slept in and had to haul my kid and our stuff all the way back down to get a new one. had a lovely time at a bridal shower, flew to arkansas by way of georgia. spent a week in the absolute swamp weather that is may in Arkansas, had a fun little trip to missouri to silver dollar city where the weather was actually great except for the half hour we got rained on. Pool trips with the kiddos, missy discovered loldolls (rip my wallet), drove home to texas by way of oklahoma with my mom. Spent a few days at my ancestral home, went to a peach orchard, then the power went out the last day thanks to storms and got to pack to go home in the pitch dark at 5am. Tried to get onto an earlier flight on standby, which we did not - but our luggage did, so had to go to the luggage office to retrieve our things, discovered that the airline had ripped my brand new bag (but then they gave me a voucher that was worth nearly four times as much as I paid for the bag so net win?). Finally got home at about 3am last night, finished the book i've been listening to, now I want to lie on the floor and relax for ten years, what a whirlwind.
