Your New England Wolfpack are the S77 Champions! This year’s team had the feeling of something special for quite a while, and it feels so cool to see all the hard work pay off. Being in that locker room (although not yet playing as I’m still a prospect) really showed me what the SHL is all about. The room came together, even when we were down 3-1 going into the final sim of the season. Standout performances up and down the lineup, particularly from Antoine Beauregard, Nathan Cormier, Ivan Lacksamus, Seamus O’Slapahan, and Pork Tenderloin were responsible for putting the Wolfpack in a position to win. With that said, it would be foolish to overlook the contributions of Olof Karsikko, without whom the Wolfpack would have never even sniffed a title run. His .913 SV%, while not eye-popping in and of itself considering the ream in front of him, gets far more impressive when you look at it on a game-by-game basis (I highly recommend Luke’s breakdown, available not in SHL media).
Ultimately, there wasn’t much the Renegades could do to change the outcome of the series. They had an excellent roster as well (were probably the favourites going in), and good management and culture. Sometimes the sim gods just decide today isn’t your day, and that’s how the season ended in Texas.
