In classic fashion, Jamie Fraser has gone above and beyond to introduce the rookie class to their new team and league. He's given them the tours, acted as mentor as needed, and in the most Carolina way, once again stepped aside to ensure they have the chance to play and develop as much as possible, at the expense of his own playing time. Three seasons ago as a rookie he appealed to the league head office for a chance to go on leave and allow for Carolina to temporarily roster new players with the league at capacity, one of those players eventually finding a home and blossoming into a star over in Nevada. Now, Fraser is spending time commuting between Carolina and Montreal, not playing for either team, in order to ensure that Carolina has the extra roster space to bring in defensive phenom AJ Diaz. This constant play to the development of the upcoming rookies has been instrumental in Carolina's development of lotto, first round, and later draft picks. |
